Internationally acclaimed environmental and social activist, author, photographer--just some of the hats worn by THOM HENLEY. Henley is founder of the Rediscovery International Foundation. Redisovery was born over a quarter-century ago on the remote shores of the Queen Charlotte Islands as a dyamic youth project that opened camp participants' eyes to a renewed contact with the land and heritage around them. Wilderness activities, blended with native culture, served to develop and strengthen feelings of confidence and self-worth for native and non-native participants alike. Today there are nearly 50 Rediscovery camps across Canada and around the world. Henley also was a key organizer of the renowned campaign to protect Canada's South Moresby wilderness from clear-cutting.
