Birds of Minnesota and Wisconsin Cover

Since it dedicates a whole page to each species, [the book] is able to provide much more information than any of the popular field guides to North American birds. It is a nice combination of identification guide, natural history, and regionally specific suggestions for locating the species.

This is a well thought-out guide. The bird illustrations are large and inviting paintings. The descriptive text for each species is written in layman's terms for the beginner, but includes some points of interest for more advanced birders... ..I think the most useful part of this guide for intermediate birders will be the great write-ups of the Top 10 spots to bird in each state, followed by a listing of the top 50 sites. That info alone could keep any birder busy for months, if not years!! , St. Paul , MN
