Franklin Haas
franklin_haas Photo Franklin C. Haas is one of Pennsylvania's leading ornithologists. He is the founder and former chief editor of Pennsylvania Birds, the quarterly journal of the Pennsylvania Society for Ornithology. Haas grew up as a boy near Hawk Mountain Sanctuary in east-central Pennsylvania, on the migratory path of hawks, eagles and falcons. His fascination with the high-flying birds of prey grew into a life-long study of all birds across North America.
