SUSAN SMITTEN is an accomplished filmmaker, television producer and writer. She recently directed and wrote FASD: Finding Hope, a one-hour documentary for broadcast on the Knowledge Network. Prior to that Susan co-directed and co-wrote Wild Horses, Unconquered People (the story of the Xeni Gwetíin First Nationís fight to save their culture and land) for CBC and Knowledge Network. In addition, Susan has directed for many recent television series, including Crash Test Mommy (Paperny Films), and Making It Big (Force Four Entertainment). Susan also directed and wrote Making Waves (Force Four), the story of up-and-coming chanteuse Hayley Salesí trip across Canada to meet inspirational Canadians, which aired on W. Based in Victoria, BC, Susan now works for RAVEN (Respecting Aboriginal Values & Environmental Needs) Ė www.raventrust.com Ė to assist First Nations struggling to save their traditional ways of life. When not trying to save a lake or stop the tar sands expansion, Susan enjoys combining her journalistic training with her personal interest in folklore to craft entertaining ghost stories for Ghost House Books. Smitten has authored seven books for the collection, including one book of true and very personal stories of guardian angel experiences.
